Canva: Creation Process One

As I completed my chapbook drafts for 'Fortune', I can now start with making a design of the book. I use Canva because I am comfortable with the range of elements it has and I know which ones I would like to use in my book design.

Firstly, I opened Canva and then I had to choose the template for my design.

As I am making a chapbook it is not the standard size of the book, I chose Journal by clicking on 'Create a Design' button and I had a white canvas.

I started with creating introduction and content pages because I am not sure about my cover page yet. I picked beige colour because it seems closer to the sense of future.

I went to left hand menu, clicked on the text and added a text box. I then typed 'Introduction' and changes the font colour to grey and I chose Adore the World font 43 ppt. I adjusted the text box to the middle of the top of the page.

I then wanted to add some elements connected with predictions or something magical so I went to the left hand menu, chose elements and type the name of the element.

I chose this hands and I decided that it will be on each page of my book as a main design. I changed their colour to grey and also flipped them so the look consistent from each side.

I then added number of the page by adding new text box and changing the font. I wanted to find a frame for a text and I again went to elements in left hand menu and typed frame. I chose the appropriate one, changed colour to grey and adjusted its size to the text.

I went to the left hand menu, chose add text box and added the main text for my introduction. I changed font for Lora 20 ppt and this will be the font for the main text in all my book.
