Reflection: Photo&Book Project

The end of the term approached and now it is time to reflect. In this term I have done two projects in Creative Media Production which are Creative Writing and Photography Project.

Photography Project: 

The most important thing for me in this project is that I tried doing photography for the first time. At the beginning it was hard because I needed time to learn all the settings and learn how to adjust them. I understand that with my knowledges now I could get more good photos from the first practical shoots. I had big problems with light, exposure, ISO, aperture, framing and composition. However, throughout the classes I realised that I managed to learn this and I saw much better result in my actual project.

I am also glad that I could connect this project to my continuation route in Acting because it was very useful for me to learn how to do this more professionally. When I did researches on headshot photographers, I was surprised that many of them are very good at this and I could learn from that. I think I could spend more time on preparation and research before shooting because then it was a lack of time which restricted me from doing everything I wanted.

Despite that it was a risky step for me and I gained knowledges in something new for me and I managed to get a good result from it. 

To conclude, I am sure that these skills will be useful for me in the future escpacially in my field.

Creative Writing:

This project of writing a book was also my first experience in doing that. I didn't know even about chapbooks which was very interesting for me to learn and research.

It was quite hard to combine two projects in one term, that's why I think I felt more nervous with the book. I think it is a creative process, so mostly I wrote it when I had an inspiration. 

Because English is not my native language, it was hard with descriptive words or phrases, linking the thoughts and which are used in fiction. It happened that I could describe it very good in my language but then it was very hard to think of it in English. However, I liked the process and I liked the idea which I chose to write about. I am proud that I managed to write the whole book even if it's not very big.

Another thing I was struggling with is planning, I always face this problem when it comes to something creative. Sometimes it is hard to sit and plan everything so I often tended to postpone it.

The main thing I would like to improve is a writing technique and vocabulary.

In overall, I am happy and grateful that I can create my own works which are about me and which showcase personally me.
